Family of Four

Journey to Massachusetts

Massachusetts Afghan Alliance (MAA) has supported Hasib for several years throughout his journey as a Special Immigrant Visa holder and interpreter. During his extended service to U.S. service members, Hasib earned the right to travel to the United States. After the collapse of Kabul and changes in immigration policy, Hasib became stranded with his wife and young children in Kabul.

MAA has provided essential support including housing, food, clothing, and help with education. Now the family faces a critical moment, and MAA is asking for your help.

This week, Hasib received instructions for his next steps. He must move his family to Pakistan. This move requires funding for visas, flights, housing, and living expenses. The final flight to the United States will be covered by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as a loan and does not require additional funding.

What can we do?

Great question, let me lay it out:

  • $2100, Travel Visas to Pakistan. - MAA Funded

  • $1000, Flights to Pakistan. - MAA Funded

  • $1500, Safe Housing in Pakistan. - $500 Funded by MAA

  • $500, Food and General Needs. - Unfunded

We are seeking to raise $2,000 to support the family's relocation to Pakistan. This is happening quickly, with flights scheduled as early as next week.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you are able to donate, you can help move this family from Kabul to Islamabad to Boston. Any funds raised beyond the required amount will go toward the step I look forward to most, relocating my friend to the United States.
